4. For what construction works do we need a Permit?
- Erection of new buildings
- Alterations, additions, refurbishing, and retrofitting to existing buildings
- Construction of piers, sea walls, retaining walls, pools, decks, tower bases, and spas
- Erection of towers, antennas, fences, and signs
5. Why do we need a permit?
- The process of applying for a permit ensures that your project drawings have been cleared and met all necessary requirements and safety standards.
- A building permit allows you to safely and legally begin construction on your home project.

7. What is the Process for constructing in Belize?
- An application for a permit must be submitted.
- Drawings and specifications are reviewed along with accompanying documents and then issued a No Objection after meeting the requirements.
- A No Objection is issued for a project with an accompanying Application for a Permit is issued and must be submitted with a start date for Permit to be issued.
- When construction is complete, an Application for Use and Occupy must be submitted for inspection and habitation.
8. How do we submit plans to the CBA?
- You can submit plans to the CBA by filling out the appropriate application form and submitting it to the CBA office.
9. Which Application do I need to apply if I plan on remodeling an existing building?
- Existing structures where remodeling, alterations, additions, and change of use will be done require a permit.
